Apple Computer, Inc., provides an extensive library of documentation describing QuickDraw GX and the QuickDraw GX programming environment. The QuickDraw GX suite includes the following books:

- Inside Macintosh: QuickDraw GX Programmer's Overview. You're reading it. This book introduces QuickDraw GX from a conceptual standpoint as
well as from a programming standpoint. It includes a set of programming recipes that show you how to solve specific, real-world problems using QuickDraw GX.- Inside Macintosh: QuickDraw GX Objects. This book describes the object-based architecture of QuickDraw GX and introduces the object types used for graphics and typography. It also provides complete reference information for the objects relating to color, transformation, and rendering.
- Inside Macintosh: QuickDraw GX Graphics. This book provides complete reference information for the different types of graphics shapes: points, lines, rectangles, curves, polygons, bitmaps, pictures, and so on.
- Inside Macintosh: QuickDraw GX Typography. This book provides complete reference information for the different types of typographic shapes: simple text, sophisticated text, and line layout.
